This Privacy Policy explains how Lauren Dare (ABN to be inserted) collects, uses, stores and discloses your personal information in connection with 7metaskills.com and any pre-order or email list you join through this site. It is written to comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. Who we are

Lauren Dare is the sole trader operating this website. References to "we", "us" or "our" in this policy mean Lauren Dare. You can contact us at lauren@laurendare.com.au.

2. What personal information we collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to process your order or send you content you have requested. This may include:

  • Name and email address — when you join our early-reader list or pre-order a book
  • Billing and payment information — processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store card details on our systems.
  • Delivery address — collected at checkout only if you order a physical hardcover edition
  • Device and usage data — collected automatically by analytics tools (see section 5)

We do not collect sensitive information (as defined by the Privacy Act) and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.

3. How we collect it

We collect personal information:

  • Directly from you when you submit a form, make a purchase, or email us
  • Automatically via cookies and analytics tools when you browse this site (see section 5)
  • From third-party payment and fulfilment providers when you complete a transaction

4. Why we collect it and how we use it

We collect and use your personal information to:

  • Process and fulfil your pre-order (including delivering digital files and posting physical copies)
  • Send you book updates, release notifications, and content you have specifically opted into
  • Respond to your enquiries
  • Comply with our legal obligations, including tax record-keeping
  • Improve our website and communications

We will not use your information for any purpose you would not reasonably expect.

  • Physical fulfilment: Print-on-demand or postage provider — for hardcover orders only
  • Analytics: Google Analytics (USA) — anonymised usage data only

Some of these providers are located overseas (primarily the United States). Before disclosing your information to an overseas recipient, we take reasonable steps to ensure they handle it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, including relying on contractual data protection commitments.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

7. Marketing communications

If you join our early-reader list or pre-order a book, you agree to receive emails about the book, related releases, and occasional updates from Lauren Dare. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also unsubscribe at any time by emailing lauren@laurendare.com.au.

We comply with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). We do not send unsolicited commercial messages.

8. How we store and protect your information

Your personal information is stored on secure servers maintained by our third-party providers (Stripe, Kajabi/ConvertKit). We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access. We do not maintain our own database of payment card information.

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law. Order records are retained for seven years for tax and accounting purposes.

9. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct personal information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete or misleading
  • Make a complaint if you believe we have handled your information in breach of the Privacy Act
